"Rectangles consist of sideways price action or a congestion area bounded by two horizontal or nearly horizontal trend lines at top and bottom. Rectangles can be either continuation or reversal patterns depending on the direction of the breakout in relation to the price trend before entering the formation. They are long formations that can extend from 3 months to a year, with an average duration of six months..."  Sounds like gridlock in New York to me! The art director agreed, and this traffic snarl graced the cover.
