This was the third of four section covers I was doing for the Chicago Tribune business section, and still no bears! I figured it was time for a bear (or two). I think the first idea was funny, because the article described an 'out of the frying pan, into the fire' sort of situation. I also liked the bucking bronco bear, it's shocking I've never drawn one. I think they thought it was high time for a bear as well, but suggested something simple, like putting one's head in a bears mouth. I obliged, and I like (once again) the fact that there's a lot of white space, and it pops out from the page
